was talking to chris over icq early this morning, which is erm.. arnd 1+?? he said he's going over to aust to either uni of sydney or monash after his ns. so the usual thing ppl would ask was what deg is he taking. it happened to be deg in sports and wellness. i was thinking, that coz is not suitable for sg, even if u can be a pe teacher or sth, what $$ can u make? and guess what, we ended up 'debating' over it. he claims that its sth he likes, and he doenst mind if his income is low. so i told him, if his income is low, how can he survive, i mean, if he intends to return to sg, the living standards will bound to level up.. thats for sure! and i gave an example of what if sth happens in his family and needs immediate cash. the ans he gave me was(u wouldnt believe it!) 'i can loan from the bank, if the bank cant work, i will borrow from my brothers. they wont be so hard hearted to not help' my god! ppl change! who knows what will happen to his bros! argh!! was damn pissed off!
he even said with his results, he could enter uni of melbourne(the standards is damn freaking high!). i was thinking, if i were to retake my eng, i would have stand a chance too~ bloody hell! and he even said 'if u really want to go overseas, u have to work extremely hard' extremely hard huh? he would also have to, but what now? kicked out of sch? who is worse? me? him?
the next thing he said was, 'my family may have money, but im still not happy. wouldnt it be better if u did sth u like rather than sth the community wants?' he told me he was not happy with his limited friends and his love life. and the ans he gave me abt the limited friends was 'i have very few close friends u know.. the rest are just hi-bye friends' argh! who in the world has loads of close friends?! sickening!! yesterday was disaster for me! argh! i would have chosen to earn loads of money when i come out to work..at least theres more than enough cash for back up.. and wouldnt u want ur parents to enjoy when they are old? i mean, dont u intend to bring them overseas for holidays?? --> chris, i think u should sort out your thinking, the way u think now is just too 'young' ? or should i say naive? sorry to say that, but i think its naive. u have to think for the long run, not just for now.. it wont work.
dont want to sound harsh, but wake up man!! the world is changing all the time, this is reality! come to your senses! that coz u are taking may be something u like, but can u survive with that??? i doubt so.. and what i ur income is super low? can u even afford to have a new family of your own? u will be struggling.. but still... no1 can force u to do something u dont like, so good luck man!
